Fundraising Target SMASHED!!
July 6, 2014
What a brilliant night we had last weekend at Great Preston Village Hall. The choir were all in fine voice, and did us proud as always. The night was organised by my dad, Vic, to help with much needed funds for the Leeds Addiction Unit, who have lost their funding this year for their mini bus. Our target was to raise £1000, as the council had told them, if they could raise this they can have their bus back! Well, we raised this, with change to spare : £1260 all together.
I have to say how proud I was of my dad, as he entertained the audience with his songs and jokes in the second half, supported by my brother John, and James Orr on guitars. He literally got the audience dancing in the aisles!! But, also in the way that he made the night very personal by speaking out about his own battle with alcohol addiction.
A huge thank you to our extremely generous audience, our fabulous singers and soloists and everyone who helped us with the get in and get out.
